Go Tigers!!

This past Sunday, 14 members of the LaBarge family (plus Scott) headed to Detroit, where we tailgated and took in the Sunday night Tiger's game. Some of you may know that 92 East became fans of the Tiger's during last year's playoff's. Even though the Tiger's lost, we had a great time reviving our family tradition of going to a summer Tiger's game.

Bonfire at Dave and Ceci's

I bought some new software that lets me create some pretty cool slideshows. Enjoy!

On Friday night we went over to the Roberts' house for a bonfire. All of the kids had a great time running around and playing together. Ellie loved searching for Josh Hauch as he hid in different places around the backyard. She was a bit disappointed when Dave told her that it was bedtime. See if YOU can find Josh in the picture below (he's there!). Dave was of the belief that the neighbor's wood pile had better wood, and availed himself of some of it. Heather was laughing at a story about bleeding testicles that Matt was telling-ask Matt. Ceci started riding her new bike and making Matt jealous. It was a perfect evening and we all had a great time.

Official Launch

Hey everybody, today is our official launch of the Rachel Henderson Photography website. Woo-hoo! The site has been up for a few months, but has been sort of under construction and not totally presentable. Now it's re-skinned with Rachel's new logo and colors, and we're pretty pleased with how it looks. But mostly what makes it a great site is Rachel's amazing pictures.

So, anyway, we thought we'd share with yall and invite any feedback you have. Also, if any of you have blogs or websites and would like to link to Rachel's site, we'd really appreciate it - the more links the better our Google rankings!

Urban Cowboy

I came home the other day to find these boots waiting for me. They are just what I needed to finish off my Urdan Cowboy look! I tried them on and they fit and feel great, so I think I'll keep them. You might not think so, but they are actually super comfortable. Thank you, thank you to those of you who were part of getting them for me. I like them!

Netflix Anyone?

Hi everyone. We have free one month memberships to netflix if anyone is interested. It's pretty convenient for us, although we live about a twenty minute drive from the nearest blockbuster....

Trip to Chicagoland

Jared and I traveled to Chicagoland to visit Elizabeth Tworek and attend a photography conference. Tworek showed us around her church. They just completed a new building and have been there about 6 months or so. The facility is amazing. They are a church that really supports and values the arts and their building design reflects that. It's pretty cool to see Elizabeth in a church with a large stage for dancers, lots of art, and even a worship arts pastor.
The photography conference was great! Both Jared and I learned a lot. My parents came to Holland and stayed with Win and had a great time exploring Tulip Time.

Just Keeping Up

Hi friends. I might have sent a link to these pictures to some of you, but I thought I'd post some of my favorites. I'm so in love with this baby! Ethanael has 5 1/2 teeth, crawls all over, pulls himself up, walks with help and is making more noises though Mom is still his only intelligible word. Someone at church called him Moose last week because he is like a brick and weighs more than most of the children who are older than him. He loves bathtime and I'm excited for the pool to open because I think he'll get a real kick out of it.

In other news, Michael's been working hard to help our friend Tony to expand his moving company to Tampa, Florida. We will be half owners of that location and it should be up and running in a month or so if all continues to go well. Neither of us needs to move to Florida however, because we have a reliable guy who wanted to move their anyway and Michael has figured out how to institute technological accountability. Hopefully it will do well and I won't have to continue working into 2008.

am currently obsessed with...

1. Moleskine journals. because I started noticing the use of them. According to their website, Da Vinci, van Gogh (his Moleskine is pictured left), Picasso, and Bruce Chatwin used them. According to my brother-in-law Dave, both he and Rob Bell use them. According to their website, "moleskine is a family of notebooks for different functions, according with a free mindstyle, both basic and emotional." for example, the main character in National Treasure uses a Moleskine... because, apparantly, he's cool like that. check them out at www.moleskine.com

2. my new cruiser bicycle I bought for $99 off of Amazon. It rides like a dream (and I didn't even know I liked bikes!)

3. Amazon.com apparantly, you can even buy bikes!

Question for blog friends? What are you currently obsessed with?

Greatest Video Ever

Take On Me - Google Video
For some reason, this 80's video by the Scandinavian band A-ha has the most profound effect on me. Take a few minutes to watch and see if you agree: the greatest video ever. (Click on grey words above to view video)

5 Bucks a Ride

Jared and Josh have started charging 5 buck to anyone wishing to ride their mopeds. Jason sprung for it when he heard that Lisa and he could ride at the same time. ;-)
Here is Jared instructing Lisa how to use the throttle. Lisa is riding Jared's bike and Jason is on Josh's.
