St. Louis?
Rachel, your post is very ironic because the main thing on my mind right now is whether I should move to St. Louis or not! Funny!
The good news is: I got accepted to a PhD program in English there (at St. Louis University). The iffy thing is whether I want to go for it or not.
Our times there probably wouldn't overlap, and I shouldn't read too much into signs, but it's funny!
Let me know how it is!

congratulations D! can you wait to see if you're accepted to other programs before you decide, or do you have to give them your yes/no independently because of a time frame?

thanks, Karen! I have only heard from one other school (a no) so I still don't know about the other three and yes, I might have to decide independently. The St. Louis package is really awesome (includes an assistantship that pays for tuition and living expenses)plus I have lots of family connections there. I only have ten days to decide, though!

Denise,
That package sounds really good. I know it is a big risk, but I say go for it.
Would it be for two or three years?

Thanks for the advice, Benjamin
I think it would be three years if I stay on track.

D,
I don't know if it's too late, but I would say go for it. I wish I could go for my PhD now, too. Someday...
St. Louis is a great city. Just stay away from the river flooding areas if at all possible. ;)
