Never really noticed

Do you know that phenomenon where you learn a new word, one that you have never heard before in your life, and that same week you hear it a everywhere? Well Jared and I just had a game introduced to us, one that I had heard of many times, but never really took interest in. It's like your mind just overlooks things that are unfamiliar.
Scott and Josh Rumpsa brought over Settlers of Catan and taught us how to play. It was so much fun! Missy schooled us all with her secret strategy that she refused to reveal. Missy delivering the fatal blow as she plays the winning card.

ah..."set'lerz"...as we like to call it. i got sucked in a couple years ago by friends at church, but little had i learned to barter than "knights" took over as the new favorite. i played for the first time in january and miraculously won. however, i was so tense that i'm not sure if i had fun or not. i needed a massage when i was finished.

Massages are always a good idea!

Yes, Jeff and I have long been fans of Settlers. We have Cities and Knights and Seafarers expansions which can come with us in June! I must warn that I most often win and if you ever play with Dane Splinter don't "make an alliance" it's bad news.

I like that game, too. It goes well with beer.

True Confessions. I'm not sure when (maybe during a visit to Vancouver?)- but Lara actually shared her strategy with me. That, combined with LOTS of luck, gave me the victory. However, it sucked up all my good gaming vibes because last night was the LaBarge family euchre tournament, where I placed 9th out of 11.

Love the game... been playing for years now. My husband is especially a fan of the Cities and Knights expansion as well as Sea Farers. Great game! Glad you've joined us!

And Simone... beer? really? I have to admit I've only ever had a few sips, but that was plenty for me. Not to my liking.
:( I'll stick with Root Beer. :)

Beer is good!
For one thing, it's how I make my living, strange as that is. It has provided social connections and pathways in several ways...

That's a nice picture of Scott. Can that guy sitting next to him really be related to him?

That was BENJAMIN commenting, not me.
We have been down to one computer as mine isn't working properly and I didn't sign out.
Honestly, I'd rather have a mixed drink. Have only drank 1 1/2 cans of beer my entire life. Had kids so early missed out on all that wild drinkin' in my early 20s. Michael Hawthorne and Ben like to see me get tipsy at church leadership meetings.
