Today we decorated a Christmas tree - a Leland Cypress. Somehow the word "Leland" reminded me of Michigan.

There are many associations with Leland in Michigan! The county I am from is called Leelanau county and there is a town called Leland within that. Michigan rocks!

I don't know about McCoy and my boy Cadence. Cadence will look a lot like Ben when he is older, I think. I get struck with this intense sadness when I think about the fact Cadence will grow up and he is, actually, growing up now at a rapid rate. Sometimes when he is riding his bike with only one hand (without training wheels, by the way), I can see a 10 year old... then a 15 year old. "They" were right when "they" said it goes by fast. Really fast.
