Denise, I'm so sorry to hear it. Losing a pet is a hard thing to go through, especially your childhood pet. we all loved Cruiser. I'm glad you allowed him to be a part of my life, too. He will be missed!
Denise, I don't really know what to say. Cruiser was so important to you and your family. He lived a long, loved life and did his dog duties well. He loved Sean, Erin and you, even if you did treat him the way that kids treat dogs, like dressing him as a gypsy and taking his picture. What a good dog Cruiser (a.k.a Cletus Lovechild) was. CRUISER WAS A SUCCESS!
You guys are really sweet. I am glad Cruiser was a part of your lives, too; there are so many great memories with him.
We got almost infinite hours of laughter, entertainment, cuddling, and pure joy from Cruiser's existence.
It's wierd to lose a pet that represents so much of your life and, as Rachel said, your childhood. I took Cruiser for countless walks around my neighborhood with my mom growing up. My sister and I (and sometimes my brother) fought over whose bed he would sleep in.
I think you're right Rachel--Cruiser did do his dog duties well. He was always faithful, compassionate and very sweet. He liked to watch us out the window and bark as we left because he would miss us already.
I will miss his cute and comforting presence, too--as well as doing funny things to him. What will we do with all his clothes?
Sorry to hear your news D. I know your whole family will really miss Cruiser. You're really lucky to have had his devotion and love during hard times. I've never had a dog, but have wanted one. Is that you in the picture, or Eva? Hugs.
D-I'm so sorry to hear baout Cruizer... he really was a part of your family and I thought of him as such. I loved listening to your passionate stories about him.
