Wet Spring Days
"Ah, just taking it easy here on the rocks down by the river. Working on my tan. I wonder if I can steal Cadence's squirt gun while he's out chasing tubes... I bet I could. He gets so distracted, and by the time he notices it's gone, mom will tell him I had it first and I will win. Hahaha."
This is Cadence (the one in front) racing (his friend Cameron) to the start to take another exciting trip down the Pflugerville River on a tube. Whether it was really a race or not is irrelevant, Cadence is always racing even if it is just to the refrigerator . He's so competitive, he even cries when mommy beats him in a race from the car door to the front door (half the time I don't know we're racing but he informs we he "won" when he gets there first OR he bursts out crying that I am "too fast"). Cadence does usually win his little races (especially because most of them are agaist Eli, who is a great sport for always losing to his brother)... we are trying to prepare him for the fact that he will lose with other kids at some point. He will have none of that. He thinks he's the fastest. Oh, but he does often boast that daddy is the fastest and strongest daddy in the world - that he is sure of.

Are you sure you didn't copy those pictures out of one of those cool/artsy/outdoorsy magazines? Are those really your children?

Oh my gosh, so cute, eh? Cadence has a perfect little-kid-with-athletic-potential run. Note the look on his competitive little face. Yeah. Haven't I said enough times that good looking people make good looking kids? Oh, this is the proof. Missy, you will have simply incredible kids.

Cadence looks so old and skinny, not like a chubby little thing anymore. Wow! But Eli is still def. a baby, so that's good.

Eli is as old now as Cadence was when we moved from MI. Rachel, we still have those great pictures on the wall that you gave us. Eli isn't jealous... yet.
