Bocce Season
Karen and Michael were in town to celebrate their pregnancy with all in Holland. Karen, Michael, Jenn Hendrie, the Fennemas, Kool, Heather, Missy, the Dietchies, Beverly, Denise, Lossing and the Hendersons spent an overcast afternoon at Tunnel Park. We had the firepit ablazing, brats, cheeseburgers, plenty of diet pop and a really fancy cake that Jenn made. We played Bocce ball, and telephone pictionary. Karen got a highchiar and some childrens books. The kids played and the adults talked. We had quite a jolly time!

I'm so jealous I wasn't there! Karen, I want to see more pictures of you being a hot pregnant lady! Missy, you are looking quite hot yourself, nice hat.

Yes- Karen is indeed a hot pregnant lady. The real reason for the hat is because I had run a 1/2 marathon that morning- had taken a shower- and done nothing else. My hair was freaky. I'm jealous you weren't there either Lara-- when you come to Michigan, we'll have to Bocc it up!

Hey, what are all those long sleeved things covering your arms? Are those what people up north call, "coats?" We wish we were there, too. We miss playing bocce with you all and are jealous of the practice you are getting.

You all should have seen the fabulous showing from the geeky Book Club contingent, which came from (way) behind for a near one-point loss to Jared and Michael.

We missed all our currently out-of-town friends (lara, jeff, ben, and simone) but know you were there in spirit. I received a beautiful highchair that I'm geeked about. I put it together Sunday night when we got home and our friends' Sean and Kristy Lefever fed their daughter Emma in it last night.

Karen -
I am so proud of you for allowing another child to sit and and "mess" up your highchair! How sweet and generous of you (we won't get into the new moms around me who are possessive with their NEW baby stuff and get nervouse when my "messy" kids get near)!
We thought of you often last Saturday and really miss you all.
Seems like college was a really long time ago...

I ran into Kristy (Kooyer) VanDyke and her husband at the Brewery this week; (it was too bad it wasn't before the BBQ). She was really excited to hear about Karen and Michael and said hi...
