Lost Wallet

For Christmas this year, we flew home to Illinois to be with my parents, which was nice since I haven't seen them since Abby was born. However, the day after Christmas, Scott lost his wallet and all it's contents including an IPAQ PDA and $200 in cash that we brought for traveling money for the week. Ouch! That was an expensive loss! We searched everywhere, to no avail. At least no one tried to use our credit/debit cards by the time I called them in missing. What has God taught me from this? ... hmm, still working on that one. However, I think patience with my husband's forgetfulness is one... and maybe my need to relinquish control of all things to God. I'm sure there are many more. Man, these little lessons hurt. If only life lessons could be easier... but then, I guess I wouldn't remember them as well. Thank you God for your rod of correction.

Ouch! A lost wallet is hard because it seems so pointless. I remember one windy September day last year when I wanted an icecream cone from Sherman's (which only takes cash). I went to the ATM machine at the gas station next door, got out a $20 bill (including paying the $2 service fee), got in my car holding the 20, started up the car to drive next door to get the icecream and WHOOOOSH- the twenty goes flying out of my slightly-cracked window. It was gooooone. Not quite an entire wallet- but I feel 1/10th of your frustration. Here is a list of things I currently can not find:
1. my keys (including house, car, 3 work keys, and key to Christian Fellowship youth building)
2. the diffuser to my hair dryer
3. my black belt
4. a husband

Missy, Thanks for helping me laugh through my pain. Why is it easier when we can commiserate together? I hope you find all of those things soon. Especially the husband. :)
love you!

Rachel, I like your use of the wallet picture on your post, very clever---I imagine it's sadly not your husband's, however.

Denise, You are right. That is not my husband's wallet. (How strange would it be if I did have a picture of his wallet... weird). I just thought a little picture adds so much to the post.

Blessing!!!! One of my faculty members came in and gave me a 100 dollar bill yesterday because he said the Lord really pressed on his heart to do so. I was speechless! I love how God gives back what the devil tries to steal away. Thanks, God!
